My name is Julie and I am passionate about decorating and painting. I have been painting and drawing since I was a child.
When it comes to interior design, I don’t follow all the trends at face value.
For me, decorating your home is more than a question of aesthetics. Yes, I like pretty things, but decorating allows me to create a harmonious and pleasant atmosphere where it is good to be after a long day of work. It is turning a house into a home sweet home.
I like to decorate my house with restored furniture that has an extra soul, colourful curtains and cushions that create a cosy atmosphere and original illustrations on the walls.
I regularly change small touches in the decoration of my flat. Sometimes I change the place of the furniture, the colours of the textiles and especially the illustrations that I hang on the wall. Coloursplay an important role in decoration, they create harmony even in a room with eclectic furniture.
When I want to achieve harmony or style in a room, I paint new illustrations. I often have a very specific idea in mind (botanical illustration, abstract with soft colours, minimalist) and finding such pieces in the shops is often mission impossible. My solution ? I paint them myself.
Shall I show you some examples?
In my painter’s studio, the furniture is white and fir green, the walls are white and I have painted one wall in old pink. I needed some touches of a complementary colour to tie it all together.
I opted for mustard yellow because I love this colour and have used it in other rooms in the house.
In the very mustard room, I created two pink illustrations that go very well with the yellow and with my other duvet covers.
I created Les Jolies Illustrations to offer you illustrations of different styles and colour ranges, original creations to stand out from the seen and seen-again posters and to help you find the piece of the puzzle you are missing to create that much desired harmony.
You will find on this site some of my creations but also a contact form to send me your ideas.
I look forward to hearing from you!
